The Zampolli Prize recognizes outstanding contributions to the digital humanities involving the innovative use of information and communication technologies.

Professor Antonio Zampolli (1937-2003), for whom the prize is named, was one of the founding members of the Association for Literary and Linguistic Computing (ALLC), in 1973, and ALLC President from 1983 to 2003.

Dr. Gaffield will officially receive his prize during the ADHO annual conference in July 2011.
