Professor Jeff Keshen receives the June Callwood Award
OTTAWA, April 23, 2010 — 
The University of Ottawa congratulates Professor Jeff Keshen, recipient of the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Volunteerism.
Professor Keshen has been a strong promoter of volunteerism among students. In fact he is the founder and director of the Community Service Learning Program at the University of Ottawa, providing opportunities for hundreds of students to volunteer for under-resourced groups in the community.
Experiential learning takes students out of the classroom to actively apply their university studies to real world situations, and in ways that benefit the community and not-for-profit organizations.
The June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Awards for Volunteerism recognize individuals and groups that have made an exceptional contribution to volunteerism in Ontario.
