University of Ottawa pleased with approval of universal bus pass by Ottawa City Council
OTTAWA, January 28, 2010 — The University of Ottawa applauds the City Council who approved the universal bus pass proposal today. Council members demonstrated foresight and leadership on a decision that will encourage use of public transit by the uOttawa student community.
“This is great news for the University of Ottawa students and I would like to thank members of city council for recognizing the need for a universal bus pass,” said Allan Rock, president and vice-chancellor at the University of Ottawa.
Students at the University of Ottawa will hold a referendum later this year to ratify the $145 a semester fee for the pass.
