Study on research: University of Ottawa among Canada's top research universities
OTTAWA, October 29, 2009 — According to a study conducted by Research Infosource Inc., the University of Ottawa is once again among Canada's ten best universities in the area of research, taking seventh spot in a ranking of 50 Canadian universities. In Ontario, uOttawa ranks third.
The University of Ottawa was able to improve its overall standing—from the eight to the seventh position—in part thanks to a significant increase in research funding ($245 million in 2008 compared with $229 million in 2007). In terms of growth in research publications in the Medical/Doctoral category, the University ranked third in the country.
