2010 Recipient - Jacqueline Carnegie

Jacqueline Carnegie is an associate professor and the director of undergraduate education for the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. An esteemed researcher and teacher, she is deeply committed to student learning and to creating a more productive and interactive learning environment for undergraduate students. Of paramount importance to her is that students understand the physiological and pathophysiological concepts that they are being taught. As one of her students so aptly puts it, “I know that we are not allowed to say ‘memorize.’” In conjunction with her heavy teaching load over the past several years, Professor Carnegie has also developed a strong educational research program focusing on the design and evaluation of novel online learning and self-testing tools.
