2007 Recipient - Joanna Gotfrit
Chancellor's scholarships 2007-2008 (Science)
Joanna Gotfrit, a graduate of John McCrae Secondary School in Nepean, Ontario, has joined the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Science, Biomedical Sciences. She excelled through her years in high school maintaining an average of over 90 per cent from 2004 to 2006 and attaining the highest mark in several of her courses. While attending John McCrae she was a peer teacher, sat on student council, was a member of the culture club and the athletic council, and a member of the junior achievers corporation. She was a member of several sports teams including cross country, track and field, varsity soccer and varsity field hockey. In addition to her school activities, Gotfrit is a blue belt in taekwondo, plays house league soccer, is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Nepean-Carleton Progressive Conservative Youth Association, and volunteers within the soccer and taekwondo communities.
