2006 Recipient - Jean Béliveau
When Hockey Hall of Fame legend, Jean Béliveau retired from the National Hockey League, he said, “I only hope I have made a contribution to a great game.”

He led is team to an incredible 10 Stanley Cup victories. He announced his retirement in 1971 after 18 glorious seasons with the Canadiens.
He was honoured at a special event at the Montreal Forum in 1971 and at his request the Jean Béliveau Foundation was established to provide exclusively for underprivileged children.
He worked in various capacities with the Canadiens organization until his retirement in 1993, but retains ambassadorial prestige with the club to this day.
