2005 Recipient - Marc Rodger
Marc Rodger of the Faculty of Medicine and the Ottawa Health Research Institute is researching thrombophilia, the tendency to develop blood clots. His research involves determining the risk of complications, such as from pregnancy or hemodialysis catheter clots, among people who suffer from thrombophilia.
A hematologist/epidemiologist Rodger is the recipient of the Maureen Andrew New Investigator Award given by the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He has received more than $2 million in research funding. Since his faculty appointment he has had 32 publications, including 17 as principal or senior author.
