OCUFA Teaching Award
2005 Recipient - Jon Houseman
University of Ottawa Biology Professor Jon Houseman has been named among Ontario's six most outstanding university teachers in a province wide competition adjudicated by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) Awards Committee.
Houseman's teaching evaluations are among the highest at the University of Ottawa.
"OCUFA's Awards Committee described Dr. Houseman as an inspirational educator and a pioneer in innovative uses of instructional technology, whose impact extends far beyond the University of Ottawa to students around the world using his online material," said OCUFA President Michael Doucet.
Dr. Houseman's contributions to teaching and learning have been recognized through several nominations and awards, including the 2005 University of Ottawa Prize for Excellence in Education award.
