2003 Recipient - Brittany Piovesan

Brittany's goal in life is to visit all the continents. She is off to a good start. She spent a few weeks in Spain this summer and is enrolled in the International Development and Globalization program at the University of Ottawa. The Embrun native is also a debating pro. She twice represented Ottawa at the provincial student-debating tournament, and represented Ontario at a national student-debating seminar in Edmonton. In addition, she has participated in the filming of an educational video on various debating styles as well as on parliamentary debate. Her acting skills have landed her small roles in the Science point com TFO television show and an Ontario Ministry of education video. She was also an ambassador at the theatre festival Théâtre-Action and a crowd animator during Winterlude. She played the percussion in the New Year's Eve show Harmony 2000 at the Leamy Lake Casino. At the École secondaire De La Salle (Ottawa, Ontario), Brittany was co-editor, journalist and photographer for the school paper.
