2004 Recipient - Barry Wellar

Barry Wellar joined the Geography department in 1979 and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. His research interests and courses taught include transportation systems, geographic information systems, methods of scientific inquiry, public policy, urban planning, political geography, and performance measurement techniques He is currently the Policy Research Advisor for the Federation of Urban Neighbourhoods, and is a co-founder and Director of the Pedestrian Space Forum. Recognition for his researches and his public service achievements include honours and awards from the National Association of Towns and Townships, Association of American Geographers, Canadian Association of Geographers, and more.
