President's Scholarships
2004 Recipient - Trisha Nagpal

Ms. Nagpal, from Nepean, knows how to keep busy. The winner of several prizes, including her school’s silver medal for high marks, she has also been recognized for excellence in French and science. This year alone, she won the top prize for best essay in the Mathieu Da Costa Challenge, and the Royal Canadian Legion prize for best poem and composition. She is aiming high in her university studies, having registered to study biopharmaceutical science. Ms. Nagpal has been actively involved in her community and her school, having been a tutor, a member of student council and the school’s debating club. In addition, she worked on the student paper, Hawk Talk, and the school yearbook. She has done fundraising for a number of groups and organisations in her home region, including the Canadian Cancer Society and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Of Indian origin, Ms. Nagpal has a strong interest in multiculturalism, and participates as much as she can in cultural events in her school and her community.
